if you wish to play along, come over here and ask away. what is your favorite "comfort food," why, and how do you make it (recipe)? (asked by arlie) chicken cacciatore... it's a long-time favourite of mine and i especially love it the way mother cooks it (which i don't have the recipe off-hand right now... i will include it in this post soon. so, do you get pestered by random lj people calling you on the phone often? (asked by linnapaw with a grin) meh... when it does happen, at least they are not trying to sell me something or waste my time trying to convince me to watch some awful television pilot. =] you have a choice between guillotine or firing-squad-how would you kick the bucket? (asked by psychobatmuerte) firing squad (although i find it interesting that i have to choose between the preferred method of death by revolution france or the preferred method of death in the state of utah). hHow did you get interested in orthodoxy? (asked by angry_man) it was a life-long exposure. it first started with my interest in eastern europe and the former soviet union after the end of the cold war/fall of the soviet union and being aware of the existence of orthodoxy. the next step was learning about the byzantine empire (roman empire) and particularly ikonography (also through learning about a certain renaissance/mannerist painter named domenikos theotocopoulos, better known as el greco). the big push was the summer before i attended william and mary. after reading lyric translations for the vangelis/irene papas album rhapsodies, i soon acquired an interest in wanting to more about orthodoxy... for what i little i read at the same time, i liked already. in reading more about history and theology, i realised that this is where i needed to be and this is everything that i've been looking for. and that's the brief version of it =] the mood in our hearts: mellow the sound in our ears: mulholland drive
